One of our favorite things to do in Okoboji is hit the trails, whether by foot or bike. There’s no shortage of options in the area, either! When you’re a guest at our hotel in Okoboji, you don’t have to go far.
The Dickinson County Trails system is one of the best Okoboji, Iowa attractions to build a day around. The network includes paved routes through town, connections between communities, and nature-centered trail sections with prairie, wetlands, and wildlife.
The “spine” of the system is a wide, hard surface trail that supports two-way traffic and is ideal for walking, running, and biking. From that main route, you can connect to additional trails that add variety and let you explore different corners of the Iowa Great Lakes region without ever getting in a car.
Kenue Park, home to the Dickinson County Nature Center, is one of our favorite stops along the Dickinson County Trails System.
